Lt. Robert Horn of Mt. Pulaski, WWII pilot.

Lt. Horn ended up piloting B17 Bombers.  On his last mission, his plane was shot down over a over a farming community in Germany.  Bob was able to land his crippled bomber safely. The local farmers rushed out to hold he and his crew at bay with their pitchforks until a German Nazi platoon showed up to take them prisoner.

The German officer in charge asked Lt. Horn for his ID.  Bob handed over his wallet.  Soon, the German officer began laughing as he showed his comrades Lt. Horn's ID.  As the German officer handed back Lt. Horn's wallet, he took out his wallet and showed his ID to Lt. Horn.

Lt. Horn smiled, too.  Both officers, Lt. Horn and his arresting German officer had the last names:  Horn.
