Mt.
Pulaski’s 2011 “Year of Celebration” kicks off on
New Year’s Eve—Dec. 31, 2010—on our town square –
to include food, drink, music, shopping, children’s activities,
fireworks (weather permitting), a short memorial service, a
ball-drop at midnight and group photo of all in front of
courthouse.
The Mt. Pulaski 175th
Committee hopes you will join us for the first in a series
of events to be held throughout the year to help
celebrate Mt. Pulaski’s 175th
Birthday.
Many of our retail shops will be open as
well as our courthouse and historical museum. Our
up-town restaurants will be open and the 175th
committee will be serving a Soup, Chili, Sandwich &
Ham-Bean SUPPER at the
VFW
Hall on the South Side
of the Square
(EXTRA SEATING
WILL BE AVAILABLE).

– 9:00 Buff’s open for prime-rib dinner:
reservations are requested. Open afterwards ‘til
11 pm
FREE Music & Entertainment will follow at 9 pm
5:00 – 10:00 PizzaMan (later if need be)

west side of square (weather permitting)

7:00 – 9:00 Children’s activities for 5th grade and younger
at the old firehouse on the east side of the
square - hosted by the 175th Committee and Zion
Lutheran Church.
7:00 – 11:30 Activities for 6th thru 12th
grades at the
Christian Church Family Life Center - hosted
by the 175th
Committee and the Christian Church. Ping-pong, basketball,
pizza, snacks, music and
a grab-bag giveaway at the end of the
evening. All kids need to be signed in and out by
a parent
or guardian.

Music & Entertainment will be offered at two locations beginning at 9:00 pm:
Buff’s Restaurant –
bring your own beer or wine - VFW Hall
– coffee, hot tea & hot cocoa available
11:30 ……. All meet on the west lawn of the
courthouse for the $175 drawings
Winner of the $175 Historical Museum
Treasure Hunt contest will be announced.
Short
Memorial Service
to remember those who have passed away in 2010. Each name will
be
gonged.

-In case of inclement weather, the kickoff
celebration will be re-scheduled for Saturday evening
January 8 (same
hours for events).

merchandise can be purchased
this evening in several locations
around the square including the Museum
and VFW Hall. Shirts, sweatshirts etc. will be available at
the store that was formally ‘Little Britches and
Stitches’ on the east side of the square.
-Tickets for the June 30th, 2011 reception at the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Museum
will go on sale for
the first time and may be purchased at the Farmers Bank,
Historical Museum, VFW Hall and Salt Creek Attic.
